About the Role
This job listing is set to start Summer of 2026 with a training period at the end of Spring 2026. Starting pay is determined by relevant experience.
After completing our paid two-week training period, you will teach your own groups - teaching them new skills, overcoming fear, and having fun. Other responsibilities will include debriefing parents, helping with set up and tear down, and taking pictures and videos of classes for marketing as directed.
Requirements
Must be 16 or older
Must be available Mon-Fri evenings
Preferred, but not required:
Experience as a swim instructor / teaching swim lessons / swim coach
Experience as a competitive swimmer
Experience as a lifeguard
Any of the following certifications:
Lifeguard, CPR, AED, First Aid
About the Company
Tiger Shark Swim School is the premier swim lesson program in the Auburn/Opelika area. We were founded by two college-aged swim instructors and have structured our company by instructors, for instructors!
No previous experience required: As long as you have a love of water and water safety, and work well with kids - we will teach you the rest!
Classes are small: we use a 3:1 student to coach ratio
Curriculums are simple: No need to make it complicated. We provide day-by-day breakdowns with useful tips and tricks from our team included.
Bring your own style: As long as the kids are learning what they need to learn, feel free to be creative and bring your own touch!
Great for students: We operate primarily in the evenings after school, and throughout the summer
