Every summer, our families and kiddos experience a common struggle while trying to have fun in the water and at swim lessons: ear pain. Whether it is caused by an ear infection, tubes, or a case of swimmer's ear, the pain that our kids feel when water enters their ears is no fun for anyone. Over the years, we have seen a number of products used by families in an attempt to ease these pains when swimming cannot be avoided and we have selected the three that have been the most effective to recommend to you. Continue reading to find out why we love these products and the links to purchase them if they are exactly what you've been searching for.

Putty Ear Plugs

One of the best ways to keep water out of the ears is to stop them up. These silicone putty ear plugs are perfect for creating a water-tight seal in your kiddos ears since they are soft and moldable. Products similar to the one pictured here can be found in stores and pharmacies, but we recommend Mack's for kids as it is the official earplugs of USA Swimming.

Swim Headband

This product wraps around the child's head, fully covering each ear, and secures in the back with a velcro strap. They are adjustable and can fit as snuggly or as loosely as needed. One size will fit most heads, so they can be worn for years if need be.

Swim-EAR

For that stubborn water that just won't leave, we recommend Swim-EAR. Put a couple drops in the ear and wait a few minutes before tilting head to drain excess liquid. Swim-EAR will dry up the water that is trapped deep in the ear, ridding your child of the discomfort.
